Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Tarbiyah House respects the privacy of our students, families, and visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the Tarbiyah House website or Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy, why we collect it, how it may be used, and the choices available to you.

Because our educational resources are designed in part for children and young people, protecting student privacy is particularly important to us.

1. Who We Are

Tarbiyah House creates Islamic educational books, study materials, and related resources for children, youth, families, and beginning learners.

Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy is the learning platform through which we provide free, self-paced courses.

For privacy questions or requests, please contact us through the contact form available on our website.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the website.

Student Account Information

When a student account is created, we may collect information such as:

  • name;
  • username;
  • email address;
  • account credentials;
  • course enrollments;
  • lesson and course progress;
  • quiz or assessment results; and
  • other information voluntarily provided through the account.

We use this information to create and maintain student accounts, provide access to courses, save learning progress, administer quizzes and assessments, and operate Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy.

We ask users not to include unnecessary personal information in usernames, profiles, or other account fields.

Contact Form Information

When you contact us through the website, we may collect your name, email address, the subject of your inquiry, and the information you include in your message.

We use this information to respond to your request and provide support.

Please do not send passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal information through our contact form.

Technical Information

Like most websites, our website and the services used to operate it may automatically process certain technical information, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • cookies or similar technologies;
  • login and security information; and
  • information necessary to deliver and secure the website.

Some of this information may be processed automatically by WordPress, Tutor LMS, our web host, security services, or other service providers necessary to operate the website.

3. Children’s Privacy

Tarbiyah House and Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy provide educational resources intended in part for children and youth.

Children under 13 should not independently create an account or submit personal information through the website. Where required by applicable law, a parent or legal guardian must provide the necessary consent before we collect personal information from a child under 13.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to create or supervise accounts used by younger children and remain involved in their child’s use of the Academy.

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to provide our educational services. We do not require children to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity.

If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected in a manner that requires parental consent and the required consent was not obtained, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information or otherwise comply with applicable law.

4. Parents’ Rights

Where applicable, a parent or legal guardian may contact us to:

  • request information about the personal information collected from their child;
  • review their child’s personal information;
  • request correction or deletion of that information;
  • withdraw previously provided consent; or
  • refuse further collection or use of their child’s personal information.

We may need to take reasonable steps to verify that the person making a request is the child’s parent or legal guardian before providing access to or deleting information.

Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion of information necessary to maintain an account may result in the account being closed or certain course features becoming unavailable.

5. How We Use Information

Information collected through Tarbiyah House or Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy may be used to:

  • create and manage student accounts;
  • provide course access;
  • record enrollments and learning progress;
  • administer quizzes and assessments;
  • maintain account security;
  • provide technical or account support;
  • respond to questions and contact-form submissions;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
  • prevent misuse, fraud, or security threats; and
  • comply with applicable legal requirements.

We do not use student information simply because it is available to us. We aim to limit collection and use to what is reasonably necessary to operate the educational service.

6. Advertising and Sale of Personal Information

Tarbiyah House does not sell children’s personal information.

We do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising.

If our practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and any consent required by applicable law will be obtained before the new practice is applied to children’s information.

7. Service Providers

We rely on third-party services and software to operate portions of the website and Academy. These may include website hosting, WordPress, Tutor LMS, email delivery, security, spam prevention, contact forms, and similar infrastructure.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services on our behalf.

We seek to limit the information shared with service providers to what is reasonably necessary for the service they provide.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website or the services necessary to operate it may use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as:

  • keeping users signed in;
  • maintaining account sessions;
  • remembering preferences;
  • protecting the website from abuse;
  • maintaining website security; and
  • providing necessary website functionality.

We do not intentionally use children’s information collected through cookies for targeted advertising.

If optional analytics, advertising, social-media tracking, or similar technologies are added to the website, this Privacy Policy and our consent practices will be reviewed and updated as necessary.

9. Course Progress and Educational Records

Rawḍat al-ʿAsāfīr Academy may store information about a student’s participation in our courses, including enrollment status, completed lessons, progress, quiz attempts, and assessment results.

This information is used to provide the student’s learning experience and allow students to return to their studies.

Student progress information is not intended to be publicly displayed.

10. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing student accounts, maintaining course progress, responding to support requests, meeting security needs, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary for those purposes, we will delete or anonymize it as appropriate.

Parents may contact us to request deletion of their child’s information, subject to any limited retention required by law.

For children’s data, don’t leave this indefinitely vague in your actual operation. The current COPPA requirements call for a retention policy tied to the purpose and business need for the information, including a timeframe for deletion, and prohibit indefinite retention. Federal Trade Commission

11. Data Security

We take reasonable measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or loss.

No website or online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their passwords and should not share account credentials with people who are not authorized to access their account.

If you believe a student account has been compromised, please contact us.

12. Third-Party Websites

Our website may link to third-party websites such as retailers or platforms through which Tarbiyah House books are available.

Once you leave our website, information you provide to another website is governed by that website’s privacy practices. We encourage parents and users to review those policies before providing personal information.

13. Contacting Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, wish to make a privacy request, or are a parent or guardian seeking to review or delete information associated with your child, please contact us through the contact form on the Tarbiyah House website.

When making a privacy request, please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant account without sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, educational services, service providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. If a change materially affects how children’s personal information is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide any additional notice or obtain any additional consent required by applicable law.
